Caribbean Sofritos with Jorge Félix Interactive Cultural & Culinary Experience Artist, curator, and cultural worker Jorge Félix presents a special edition of his popular Sofrito Conversation series exploring Caribbean food traditions, migration, ancestral knowledge, and diasporic cultural exchange through the preparation of traditional seasoning bases and herbal blends.
The gallery transforms into an interactive communal kitchen and storytelling space where participants will prepare Puerto Rican recaito, Haitian epis, Jamaican green seasoning, and other Caribbean flavor traditions while learning how food carries histories of migration, memory, spirituality, resistance, and cultural continuity across the African diaspora.
Guests will leave with handmade seasoning blends, recipes, and a deeper appreciation for Caribbean culinary heritage. Wine and light refreshments will be served.
Free Parking is available at the US Bank employee parking lot on 3617 W Oakdale Ave across the street from the customer lot. West Oakdale Ave. is a block south of the Milwaukee/Central Park Ave. intersection.
