Help PRAA Continue to "Unite People Through Culture!"

Dear Friends of PRAA,

As 2022 draws to a close, we would like to thank you for your support during this year! Whether you served as a volunteer, attended an event, or were part of our donor community we appreciate you standing with us! Our music and studio arts educational programs, exhibitions, performances and events remain because of your participation and investments in helping us continue our mission.

Despite some of the challenges non-profits and the performing arts sectors continue to experience post pandemic, PRAA has remained dedicated in our commitment to providing children and youth opportunities in educational Music and Arts programs, student and family enrichment activities, performances and exhibitions. PRAA continues to offer all of these anchored in the traditions of Puerto Rican and Latin culture. We can also proudly say that, thanks to the creativity and resilience of our staff, Board of Directors and the generosity of our donors, our organization remains as strong as ever.

While this year brought its share of challenges; it also brought opportunities for us, and a sense of gratitude for the arts excellence we were able offer. We were able to offer most all of our programs, events, exhibitions and performances live and in person. Noche Caribeña was held at Navy Pier bringing more that 1,200 people to enjoy a live performance by Son Divas (direct from Puerto Rico!), students continued in person learning at the Latin Music Project Center and CPS, the Desde Mi Barrio Concert Series hosted local musicians at the Juan & Gladys Mendez Music Hall and for the second year, community members enjoyed the Baila Conmigo Concert Series at PRAA Center. PRAA returned to the Harris Theater for the 24th Annual National Cuatro Festival featuring Edwin Colón Zayas who was also honored for his lifelong commitment to preserving the heritage of the Cuatro. More than 1,200 audience members attended of which 300 were students from our partner schools.

The accomplishments of this past year would not have been possible without PRAA’s extended family including: board & staff members, donors, sponsors, funders, volunteers, our students and their families, partner organizations and schools. At PRAA we seek to make sure that every student enrolled in our programs has the opportunity to reach their full potential through artistic expression. We continue to be dedicated to leveraging opportunities for musicians and artists to showcase their work for the community.

Together, we can use the arts as a means to “unite people through culture” while developing the artists and musicians of tomorrow. By making a financial contribution to PRAA TODAY you will help us continue serving more than 30,000 children, youth, families, and audience members through the arts. We are excited to bring you more educational programs and other events in the new year!

Sincerely,

Carlos Hernandez, Founder & Executive Director
