Invest in the Next Generation of Cultural Leaders!
Dear Friends of the Puerto Rican Arts Alliance,
Whether you have volunteered, attended an event, partnered with us, or supported PRAA as a donor—thank you for standing with the Puerto Rican Arts Alliance. Your generosity helps ensure that our performances, exhibitions, and educational programs remain vibrant, accessible, and rooted in cultural pride.
For more than 27 years, PRAA has served as a cultural anchor in Chicago—preserving Puerto Rican heritage while creating meaningful opportunities for young people and artists. Today, our programs reach more than 30,000 participants each year across Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.
Through initiatives like the Latin Music Project, PRAA partners with Chicago Public Schools and community organizations to provide culturally relevant arts education that inspires creativity, strengthens identity, and connects students to the rich musical traditions of Puerto Rico.
This past year has been an exciting one for PRAA:
• Our Desde Mi Barrio concert series continues to bring intimate live music experiences to Chicago audiences, highlighting the richness and diversity of Puerto Rican and Latin music while creating space for both emerging and established artists to share their work with the community.
• PRAA’s gallery remains a vibrant hub for visual artists and cultural storytelling, celebrating Puerto Rican heritage and the contributions of Puerto Rican artists in Chicago through exhibitions and cultural programming.
• We expanded our educational programming by launching early childhood arts experiences and opening PRAA’s recording studio, creating new pathways for young people to explore music, performance, and creative expression.
Looking ahead, PRAA will present the National Cuatro Festival, our signature annual celebration of Puerto Rico’s national instrument and musical traditions. This beloved event brings together musicians, cultural leaders, and audiences to celebrate the sounds of Puerto Rican holiday music and the enduring legacy of the cuatro.
As PRAA continues to grow, your support is more important than ever. A gift today helps ensure that young people across Chicago have access to culturally relevant arts education, that Puerto Rican artists have a platform to share their work, and that traditions like the music of the cuatro continue to be passed on to new generations. Whether your gift supports instruments for students, community concerts, exhibitions, or educational programming in our schools, every contribution strengthens PRAA’s ability to serve our community.
Please consider making a contribution today and investing in the power of culture, music, and education. Together, we can preserve our heritage, uplift artists, and inspire the next generation of cultural leaders. With gratitude,
Ignacio López, Ed.D.
